Hexagons are so soothing and relaxing to stitch, and the great thing about a bit of English paper piecing is that it is so portable; you can pop it into a little tub or basket and take it with you anywhere for those odd moments when you’re waiting for something or someone…

Also, you can use up all sorts of scraps to make very unique little pieces of work when you tack hexies… And on the scale of a cushion, it’s not going to take forever for you to complete…I’ve taken the boring part out for you, and included enough cut paper hexagons for you as well as a template for you to copy and make more, should you want to.

In the picture here, you can see my favourite cushion perched on a bench outside my summerhouse, taken one sunny day last Summer when we spent a day and a night on our allotment. Lovely to remember that now as I type this November…
