Birdie- Wall Hanging Pattern
Sweet little applique pattern with machine worked applique, a machine pieced checkerboard border and hand quilted. I used Sizzix dies to cut my applique shapes but the templates are included in the pattern booklet if you don’t have a Sizzix machine, and are really easy to cut out using fusible webbing.
This is a sweet little applique pattern with machine blanket stitched applique, a machine-pieced checkerboard border, and hand quilted. I used Sizzix dies to cut my applique shapes, but the templates are all included in the pattern booklet if you don’t have a Sizzix machine; they are pretty easy to cut out using fusible webbing. I don’t have it any more, because it was gifted to a new baby boy for his pram, I often think I’d like to make it up again in new colours…
I’ve included these pictures so that you can have an insight into the piece as I was making it. It’s nice to see close up shots of how the colours are laid out together, how the blanket stitch and colours of threads chosen sit on the surface, and finally, the transformation that the cross hatched hand quilting brings to the finished article.
