Morning Song Liberty Picture Kit

I enjoyed the slow, contemplative process of tacking the fine Liberty Tana Lawn hexagons over the paper templates, and when I had made enough, I really loved the arranging of the colours – almost like a jigsaw puzzle in a sort of colourwash that ebbed and flowed. The stitching them together with fine Aurifil neutral thread was a slower process, and finally, I bonded the birds and bough into place, and stitched them down with a fine straight machine stitch. The peace and tranquility and the colours were inspired by my allotment site on a light, bright morning, and this piece of handicraft won me first prize in its section at the Annual Show – I have a silver cup to prove it!

Product Description

The kit contains a step-by-step, illustrated pattern booklet with comprehensive words and diagrams. There are more than enough pre-cut Liberty Tana Lawn hexagons and the corresponding papers, and we have pre-cut the birds and the curly bough with Bondaweb fusible webbing on the back, ready for you to bond your shapes into place when your background is pieced. Also in the pattern we have given the templates for the birds, bough and hexagons, in case you might want to make another version.
